Return of the J's
Return of the J's details the history of the class, their unique place in America’s Cup folklore, the current sailing activities of the only three surviving yachts - Shamrock V, Velsheda and Endeavour and their historic return, in August 2001, to racing in UK waters for the first time in 65 years.
Combining archive film from the 1930’s when the yachts were originally launched, with previously unseen present-day footage filmed in different locations around the world, the documentary is a unique tribute to what many believe to be the most spectacular and awe-inspiring class of racing yacht ever built.
The film examines the history of each yacht, their glory-days racing for the America’s Cup and how, after many owners and sad tales of neglect, each has come to be so magnificently restored and once again providing the awesome spectacle that is J Class yacht racing.
The Multi-Region DVD-Video contains previously unseen bonus footage, shot in Antigua, in 2001.
